You My Friend, Are the Prize

"And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him." (Genesis 2:18)

Read this Verse very carefully. God created EVE as the helpmate for Adam, not vice versa.

"For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man." (1 Corinthians 11:8-9)

Men are natural leaders and pursuers. Something we often forget is that we won't have to chase after "the one." If we place our love story in God's Hands, He will make it happen. Now don't get me wrong, it is completely okay to text a guy first, or make the first move to make it easier on the guy. But ultimately, the guy should be the one doing the main pursuing. God won't send you someone who you have to beg attention or affection from.   The Bible tells us that the husbands are to love their wives as Christ loves the Church. If he isn't actively pursuing you, he is more than likely not the one. Wait for the type of guy that will lead the relationship like he should. Don't settle for mediocre out of fear of loneliness. You deserve someone who will actively pursue you, don't convince yourself otherwise.

While the man's job is to initiate the relationship, us ladies job is to respond. Something I've noticed in this generation, is us girls love being extremely vague when it comes to getting involved with a guy. Maybe we don't mean to drag a guy along, or be subtly flirty without the intentions of dating or marriage in mind, but it is very important to be honest and straightforward. As hard as that may be sometimes, it'll prevent a lot of stress on both ends and it will help both of you to heal and move forward to what God has in store for you.

"Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD." (Psalm 27:14)

The Challenge of Change

"The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly." - Proverbs 20:30

Many times, we find ourselves questioning God when we are engulfed in life's troubles. We know we're God's child, and we try our best to please Him. But sometimes we can't help but wonder, "why do bad things happen to me? I do nothing wrong." Truth is, it's not because you're doing something wrong, but simply because your faith is being tested.

Lets take Job for an example, he was definitely a man of God, in fact, Job 1 describes Job as a "perfect and upright man who feared God and avoided evil," yet, he got to the point where he had nothing and he eventually became very ill. As if that wasn't enough, his friends and family weren't very encouraging to him through this tough time. He felt completely forsaken. In spite of all of the horrible things he had to face through this time, he persevered and continued to have faith in God, because of this, Job was rewarded with twice as much as he had before.

The things we go through (the blows and wounds) are God's way of building and shaping us to be the person we were meant to be to further His Kingdom. Sometimes God allows things to happen in our lives as a test to see if we will stay faithful and true to Him.

If we always understood why God allows things to happen in our lives, our faith in Him wouldn't grow because it wouldn't be needed. However, we can stand on the promise that God won't allow us pain without a purpose. It just takes a little bit of faith and trust in God.

How To Become Pure In Heart

8/23/2018

Why is it important for a Christian to become pure in heart?

Proverbs 4:23 tells us, "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."

What we allow in our mind and hearts will be the kind of person we become. The heart is the secrecy of our thoughts and our feelings. Things no one but us and God knows. Whatever we allow in our hearts  will eventually come out in our actions. Which is why, as Christians, it is extremely important to be cautious of what we allow inside our hearts. If we treasure the things of God, we will become a person whose life will shine for Jesus.

With that being said, here are 3 tips that
will help you become pure in heart:

1)  Putting off our old & sinful lives.
One who has not cleansed their heart from everything unGodly and impure, cannot see the will of God. Once we lay down our old/sinful lives at the foot of the Cross, and become transformed and renewed in Christ, we will become pure in heart.

"Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God."
- Matthew 5:8

2. Drawing Near to God.
Drawing close to God is so important and beneficial to a Christian's life. As we grow our relationship with Jesus, our faith strengthens and our confidence in Christ begins to blossom. Which will make it easier for us to not be so easily deceived by the enemy, and help us to be able to resist and deflect any temptations or traps satan may try to throw at us.

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded."
- James 4:7-8

3. Studying & Reading God's Word.
"Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy Word. With my whole heart have I sought Thee: O let me not wander from Thy Commandments.Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee."
- Psalm 119:9-11

Meditating and spending time in the Word is a huge aspect of becoming pure in heart. These Verses above tell us we must keep ourselves pure by living the way God's Word instructs us. In order to do this, we must treasure His Word in our hearts. (v. 11)

By living the way His Word instructs us to, we will begin to spiritually grow in our relationship with God, and we will become aware of the things He does in our lives. As a result, the Spirit will begin to cleanse and purify our hearts.

Why is it called "Good Friday?"

3/30/2018

Something that can be quite hard to understand is why it's called "Good" Friday when Jesus was practically scourged and ordered to carry the cross on which He would be crucified on and then put to death. It's difficult to see what's "good" about it, right?

Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:16-19, "For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable."

If Jesus really did die for good, and He did not rise up on the third day, it would not be something good to celebrate. In fact, it'd be the greatest tragedy in the history of the human race and the end of any hope the human race might've had for the future. There'd be nothing to live for.  However, that was not in God's Plan.

Jesus may have been tortured, mocked, and rejected by mankind, but He had the Power of a million angels encamped around Him. If He wanted to, He could've avoided all of that pain. But instead, He chose to obey God, and He sacrificed His Life for us, and because of that ultimate sacrifice, we are given the opportunity to live in Heaven with Him for Eternity.

That is why we call it "Good Friday." On a day that seemed so tragic, one of the most incredible things happened to mankind: we were given the gift of Salvation by Christ Himself. He took the ultimate sacrifice!

5 Things God's Children Should Never Worry About

8/14/2017

1. Being Forsaken

At times, we feel completely alone. We feel like God has just completely abandon us in the midst of our troubles. But that's where we are wrong. In Hebrews 13:5, God states, "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."   He plainly tells us He will never leave us nor forsake us. If we stand on His Word and His Promises and Trust what He says, we won't have to worry about being abandon or lost.

2. Feeling Useless

This world pushes us down, and tells us we can't do anything. It stereotypes us as worthless and useless, but if we believe, and trust God, we can do whatever we set our minds to. This world may tell us we're useless, and can't do anything, but God tells us we can do all things through Him Who gives us strength.

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
- Philippians 4:13

3. The Future

I couldn't tell you how many times I've found myself thinking about the future, or coming up with every possible scenario that could happen--which can leave me a total wreck. But God tells us in Jeremiah 29:11 that He has a Plan for our lives. If we Trust Him and the Plan He has for our lives, we can rest in peace in knowing He has it all under Control.

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."
- Jeremiah 29:11

"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
- John 14:1-3

4. Bothering God With Prayer

So many people feel like they bother God in Prayer (which is what satan wants us to think). But really, God loves to hear from us!! In fact, He wants us to talk to Him as much as we can.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:17, God tells us to pray without ceasing.
Ceasing means to bring or to come to an end. So in other words, God doesn't want us to stop praying to Him. He wants to hear every word we have to say.

5. Being Unloved
As long as we have God, we don't need to worry about some guy sweeping us off our feet. We can feel assured in knowing that God loves us no matter what we do and He will never stop loving us.

"The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, [saying], Yea, I have loved thee with an Everlasting Love: therefore with Lovingkindness have I drawn thee."
- Jeremiah 31:3

What Qualities Make A Good Friend?

1/29/2017

I'd say a few good qualities a Christian should look for in a friend are, faithfulness, trustworthiness, and kindness. Though there are many other qualities to look for, I'd say those are the main ones we should look for in someone.

Having a faithful friend is a good aspect of a true friendship. A faithful friend is someone that will stand by your side no matter what may come along the way, like what happened with Jonathan and David. Jonathan was so faithful to David, in spite of the consequences it required. That's why it's so great to have a faithful friend; you know they will be there for you when everything around you has caved in, and you know they won't leave you, and will continue to cherish you no matter the cost.

Trustworthiness is another great quality to look for in a friend. Who wants a friend you can't trust? Being able to trust someone is an important part that plays in a friendship. You have to be able to trust someone in order to have that deeper level of friendship. Having a trustworthy friend assures you that you can tell them anything, and trust them with anything, and not expect them to apprise it. (Proverbs 11:13)

Kindness plays an important role in friendship as well. Who wants to have a friend who is always putting you down and always angry? A kind friend will be there for you, and encourage your walk with Christ. They'll be there when you need a shoulder to lean on. And will show you Christ's Lovingkindness.

I also asked a few other Christian Instagram account owners what kind of qualities they think make a good friend. Read below to see what they have to say, and be sure to check their account out by clicking the Instagram icon below their username!

“A good friend is someone who you can talk to about absolutely anything, any time and any place. Someone who you can sit quietly with too and not feel like you have to talk...but also someone who you can laugh with even in the worst of times. The best qualities to look for in a good friend are humour but also humility. Humble friends are so lovely - especially when they have the same morals as yourself and have the heart and eyes set on God.” — @LovelyLettersToHim

“A good friend would be someone who is willing to pray or talk with you through hardships in your life. They're always by your side and they always have your back through thick and thin. Jesus is obviously the Best Friend anyone could ever have! He will never leave us, He's helping us fight our battles, and He will always comfort us if we're going through something in life.” — @GodIsSufficientMemes

“There are several qualities that make a good friend, but one does not have to have all of them to be a good friend. I'd say the most important thing is trust. You have to be able to trust your friend, because being vulnerable with people is important. However, if you can't trust your friend then you can't have that deeper level of friendship;) Other qualities that can be nice are loyal, funny, kind, generous, caring, and thoughtful!” — @Gracious.Mercy

“I think some qualities that make a good friend would be honesty, encouragement, and being loyal. Honesty is always important, especially in friendships because if you want your friend to tell you something, the truth is the way to go. I've been in some relationships before where they have lied to me, and it really hurts! Encouragement is also a really great quality for a friend to have. When I'm at my lowest, my best friend is always there to support me and remind me that God is beside me and I can do anything with Him. And finally, loyalty is a good quality for a friend to have because without it, friends wouldn't have each other's backs. It's important to remain honest, loyal, and encouraging with your friends ” — @GrowingFaithful

“There are few special qualities to look for in a friend. The first being loyalty. You need a friend that will be by your side through thick and thin! Trustworthiness, a friend that you can talk with, share things with and pray with! You need a patient friend, someone who will take the time to listen, mentor and help you out in times of need!! Lastly, your friend should be someone who you can have fun with and someone who you genuinely enjoy being around! ” — @GodsGotYouInHisHands

“A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”
— Proverbs 17:17

Gossip

8/17/2016

Being gossiped about can make you feel very bad. It can even make you think bad about yourself, and maybe even question your worth. But you need to know you're very Valuable to God, even though people may talk bad about you. God Knows your heart, no one else. You need to stop focusing on what people "think" of you, you're not living to prove anything to them. As long as you and God knows the Truth, don't worry about it. I know, it's easier said than done. But it is true, we need to realize that no matter what anyone says or think about us, Even if others may be wrong about us, God knows the Truth. In the end, it's not gonna matter what anyone, but God thinks of us, because He is the One Who we are supposed to live for, no one else. If God knows our heart, who cares what anyone thinks of us? It can be hard not to get caught up into what people thinks of us. But, we can overcome what anyone thinks of us with God's Help.

What to do if you've been gossiped about:

• Stay Calm!
When we reply hurt and in a mad attitude, we may say things out of the heat. Which may effect your Christ-Like manner. Which might make things worse. So calm down and remember God Knows your heart--not them.

• Behave in a Godly Manner!
It can be hard to behave in a Godly manner when you know people have talked bad about you. But you need to know the enemy (satan) wants you to feel down, he wants to make you think (and feel) bad about yourself, he'll do anything to torture and hurt God’s children. But, you don't have to let him get his way. You need to act in a Godly manner. If you confront the abuser(s), be sure to do it in a kind, gentle, and Godly way. Let them see Christ's Reflection in you.. if you confront the abuser(s), you need to be calm. Because when we're mad and hurt, we may say things out of the heat of the moment, and make things worse. Like Proverbs 15:1 says, ”A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.“

A Gentle answer turns away wrath. If you speak kind to them, they may stop, and speak back kind words to you. If you were mad at someone, then all of a sudden they say something really nice to you, would you say something mean back? Probably not.

• Remember your fabness! (Even if that's not a word 😉)
You were Created by the King of kings. He Thought you were to die for {literally}; therefore, you're extremely special. You're amazing, you're a precious, and a fab child of the KING. No matter what, Jesus still Loves you!
Don't let what people say about you make you think less of your awesomeness. (Because, you're pretty awesome if you ask me! 😉)

• Remember this won't last forever!
After awhile, I'm sure things will be better. Like Romans 8:28 Says:
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His Purpose.”

All things can turn out good, and in the end, it's not gonna matter what anyone—but God—thinks of you.
Who knows? Maybe it happened for a reason, you just need to Trust in God! Because He Knows what's best for us. Maybe it'll get you closer to God. But regardless of reasons, just Trust God. Because He Knows what's Best for you, and He knows exactly what He's doing.

Lastly,
• Don't feel bad!
When you begin to feel bad about what the “abusers” said about you, begin to quote Scripture to yourself, and pray about it. Ask God to help you overcome it; He can make you feel better, just ask Him.

Have a Fabulous Day, and stay tuned for the next blog update!
Hope you enjoyed this blog post. Don't forget to comment your thoughts!
