"The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly." - Proverbs 20:30
Many times, we find ourselves questioning God when we are engulfed in life's troubles. We know we're God's child, and we try our best to please Him. But sometimes we can't help but wonder, "why do bad things happen to me? I do nothing wrong." Truth is, it's not because you're doing something wrong, but simply because your faith is being tested. Lets take Job for an example, he was definitely a man of God, in fact, Job 1 describes Job as a "perfect and upright man who feared God and avoided evil," yet, he got to the point where he had nothing and he eventually became very ill. As if that wasn't enough, his friends and family weren't very encouraging to him through this tough time. He felt completely forsaken. In spite of all of the horrible things he had to face through this time, he persevered and continued to have faith in God, because of this, Job was rewarded with twice as much as he had before. The things we go through (the blows and wounds) are God's way of building and shaping us to be the person we were meant to be to further His Kingdom. Sometimes God allows things to happen in our lives as a test to see if we will stay faithful and true to Him. If we always understood why God allows things to happen in our lives, our faith in Him wouldn't grow because it wouldn't be needed. However, we can stand on the promise that God won't allow us pain without a purpose. It just takes a little bit of faith and trust in God.
