I'd say a few good qualities a Christian should look for in a friend are, faithfulness, trustworthiness, and kindness. Though there are many other qualities to look for, I'd say those are the main ones we should look for in someone. Having a faithful friend is a good aspect of a true friendship. A faithful friend is someone that will stand by your side no matter what may come along the way, like what happened with Jonathan and David. Jonathan was so faithful to David, in spite of the consequences it required. That's why it's so great to have a faithful friend; you know they will be there for you when everything around you has caved in, and you know they won't leave you, and will continue to cherish you no matter the cost. Trustworthiness is another great quality to look for in a friend. Who wants a friend you can't trust? Being able to trust someone is an important part that plays in a friendship. You have to be able to trust someone in order to have that deeper level of friendship. Having a trustworthy friend assures you that you can tell them anything, and trust them with anything, and not expect them to apprise it. (Proverbs 11:13) Kindness plays an important role in friendship as well. Who wants to have a friend who is always putting you down and always angry? A kind friend will be there for you, and encourage your walk with Christ. They'll be there when you need a shoulder to lean on. And will show you Christ's Lovingkindness. I also asked a few other Christian Instagram account owners what kind of qualities they think make a good friend. Read below to see what they have to say, and be sure to check their account out by clicking the Instagram icon below their username! “A good friend is someone who you can talk to about absolutely anything, any time and any place. Someone who you can sit quietly with too and not feel like you have to talk...but also someone who you can laugh with even in the worst of times. The best qualities to look for in a good friend are humour but also humility. Humble friends are so lovely - especially when they have the same morals as yourself and have the heart and eyes set on God.” — @LovelyLettersToHim “A good friend would be someone who is willing to pray or talk with you through hardships in your life. They're always by your side and they always have your back through thick and thin. Jesus is obviously the Best Friend anyone could ever have! He will never leave us, He's helping us fight our battles, and He will always comfort us if we're going through something in life.” — @GodIsSufficientMemes “There are several qualities that make a good friend, but one does not have to have all of them to be a good friend. I'd say the most important thing is trust. You have to be able to trust your friend, because being vulnerable with people is important. However, if you can't trust your friend then you can't have that deeper level of friendship;) Other qualities that can be nice are loyal, funny, kind, generous, caring, and thoughtful!” — @Gracious.Mercy “I think some qualities that make a good friend would be honesty, encouragement, and being loyal. Honesty is always important, especially in friendships because if you want your friend to tell you something, the truth is the way to go. I've been in some relationships before where they have lied to me, and it really hurts! Encouragement is also a really great quality for a friend to have. When I'm at my lowest, my best friend is always there to support me and remind me that God is beside me and I can do anything with Him. And finally, loyalty is a good quality for a friend to have because without it, friends wouldn't have each other's backs. It's important to remain honest, loyal, and encouraging with your friends ” — @GrowingFaithful “There are few special qualities to look for in a friend. The first being loyalty. You need a friend that will be by your side through thick and thin! Trustworthiness, a friend that you can talk with, share things with and pray with! You need a patient friend, someone who will take the time to listen, mentor and help you out in times of need!! Lastly, your friend should be someone who you can have fun with and someone who you genuinely enjoy being around! ” — @GodsGotYouInHisHands “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” — Proverbs 17:17 I hope you enjoyed! & don't forget to comment what kind of qualities you think make a good friend! Blessings!!
